New York Football Giants – Jumping From One Success to Another

It was October 1925 when the New York Football Giants first played against another football team, the Frankford Yellow Jackets. Their debut wasn’t such a success as they lost to the other team at a devastating 14-0 score. Unknown to them then, this would be the ice breaker to a series of great plays that fans would definitely love.

The team’s good fortune started when Tim Mara (a bookmaker, businessman and promoter) bought the team for a mere $500. Back then, football wasn’t as famous as boxing and baseball. ข่าวบอล Professional football began to kick dirt as soon as the Giants started to leap in.

The first decade was a financially-deprived time for the team but this was when they won their very first title on the third season. During the 1930s, the Stock market was at an all-time low and the Depression was reaching out to everyone yet this good news lifted up the spirits of those who started to love the game of football.
The well-known Sneakers Game, a game where the New York Giants fought the Chicago Bears, proved to be a victorious battle. The Second World War took most of the players of football and many teams succumbed to the ravages of war and folded. The New York Giants was one of the few teams to survive this struggle phase in the 1940s.

The 1950s proved to be fruitful years to the Giants as more and more of their team members are becoming household names. Such names as Eddie Price, Rosie Brown, Kyle Rote, Frank Gifford, Tom Landry, and Sam Huff have conquered the hearts of football lovers and they have ushered in a new era for professional football leagues. 1961-1963 were highly successful years for the Giants yet these years also produced retiring players. With the majority of their key players gone, the team slipped into mediocrity.

The 70s and 80s were seesaw years for the Giants and it was only in 1990 that they won their second Super Bowl when they played against the Buffalo Bills. With an additional owner in the person of successful businessman Preston Robert Tisch, the team was off to a better future. In 1997, the team finished as the only undefeated team in NFC East Division play. In 2000, the New York Giants won the NFC East Title. By the year 2002, the Giants have triumphed on their final four regular season football games.
